Cosmology

GanymedeStudents study the origins and evolution of the cosmos from the Big Bang through the appearance of the first atoms, to the formation of stars and galaxies, supernovas, red giants and black holes. The study ends with the creation of our solar system and the beginnings of life on planet Earth.

Final Project: Interplanetary Travel 3010 AD

Since interplanetary travel is safe, fast, and inexpensive in the year 3010, students work in design teams to create a website for an imagined tourist bureau for the planet or moon of their choice.

Spiral galaxyThe student teams are required to develop at least one page detailing the salient facts regarding their planet or moon, then design and present activites to attract earth tourists.

The attractions must be consistent with the physical nature of their planetary object (ie, hot, cold, solid, gas, etc).
