The Jurassic period was the middle of the age of  dinosaurs. Dinosaurs ruled the Earth. Pangaea,  the super continent, was beginning to break up forming Gondwana and Laurasia. This period lasted for about 55 million years. The climate typically stayed at warm temperatures and was humid. The polar regions were ice free. This period was a place for new evolution.
